Hi all, thanx for your patience. Its getting complicated so please scrutinize and correct me. Next meeting: Friday, 13:00 will let you know where later. We all liked Mel's proposed charge. Need to get it to Mike. ==> Concerns were expressed to ensure we have a sign-off by the Lab. - Mel will forward a question about testing Si rad hardness using a laser to Gino?Chris. - Y2k/JDL showed a first pass at trigger rates. Will develop an updated and more selective set of triggers. We'll have that as the main agenda item on Friday's mtg. - Richard reviewed his/Brian's plans for XFT. Two prong approach: 1. study fake rates and resolution deterioration. 2. develop as much of a design as possible. He thinks maybe a week for an answer for 1. - Luciano described the SVT studies planned. Two tasks: 1. how will SVT work with current XFT in hi density events. 2. how will SVT work if we upgrade XFT (such that its performance will stay the same in 10 int/xing). Main issue here is mixed Si strip set. Richard and Marco will try to combine COT and Si event mixing (in MC). There is an overall nagging question of COT occupancies in data vs. MC (see note in: /cdf/pub/cdf5889_COT_Occupancy.ps ). - Y2K is generating Z->bbbar with 5, 10 min bias, for mass resolution study. - L2 updates postponed to a later mtg. - L3/evt builder is in great shape as to design, need to strength the why. Chris has some ideas. - COT tracking performance was shown by running the current code as-is, on ttbar with 5, 10 min bias events. Main concern here as well is: how realistic is our MBR generator compared to data. Need to check and qualify. An additional question from Richard on event-size limitation in COT tracking. We need to find a way to separate detector performance from algorithmic choices. Will do so. - Chris agreed to point us all to some min-bias data. We need to find a way to use it with MC (e.g. ttbar). - Y2K suggested to start compiling our "paper trail". It was agreed that it will be in the form of question-and-answer so that our illustrious leaders can pick cute pieces and go give talks. As usual, please read and comment. I also wanted to thank you all for the time and effort, I am really impressed by the progress we are making. Avi.
