Note number 3507

This is the first of two documents written regarding the heat transfer 
analysis of the SVX II silicon detector.  As of 6/95 there were two 
designs being considered so the two were analyzed side by side.  
Discussion of the design is kept to a minimum, and the focus is more 
on derivation of the film coefficient, the modeling technique, 
radiation damage and thermal runaway, design parameters, and 
finally the results and conclusions.
