Design Notes ============ - The PCP will not be shielded and it is likely going to be a four-layer cable. - Jim is going to see if he can put the fib and bias connectors side-by-side on the PCP - A shield pin should be carried from the port card to one of the bias pins. - We will make 20 PCP's to start and 20 sets of cables. - For the FIB cable, we will make two versions: one set with the shielded 3M 90201 cable, and the other using the Hitachi twisted pair cable. This assumes that SamTec can terminate either cable. For the shielded cable, we should silver-epoxy a wire to the shield and connect it to a specific pin on the fib connector. - We plan on only going with an unshielded cable for the bias. - The bias connection will be keyed by plugging pin 1 on the bias connector receptacle and clipping the corresponding pin on the header. - The fib connection will also be keyed by plugging pin 1 on the fib connector receptacle and clipping the corresponding pin on the header.
