Run Plan

Scheduled running time in July (7 days total): Tasks at the testbeam for July/August (in order!!!!):
  1. Goal: Improve N_zero with std. configuration.
    • Bring clean bench to testbeam counting room (JK)
    • Make new end-caps (fix LED) (JK)
    • Make small cap for cone (JK)
    • Make new clean 2 mil aluminized mylar cone (SK/AN)
    • Make new clean 5 mil thick Aluminized mylar cone (SK/AN)
    • Make cone to PMT connection (SK/JK)
    • Make single cable delays (AN/Derwin)
    • Add LeCroy TDC to readout (AN/KB)
    • Put mount together and re-align (DN/ALL)
    • Make sure timing is as before
    • Do N2 run / then Vacuum run / then Isobutane @ 6.5 psi run
  2. Goal: Improve timing measurements.
    • ACD resolution and active vs passive divider:
      • Change to passive divider
      • Keep linear discriminator
      • re-do single p.e calib
      • one standard Iso @ 6.5 psi run
      • Change ADC slope from 0.4 pC/count ---> 0.05 pC/count
      • re-do single p.e. calib
      • Standard run
    • Discriminator:
      • Tune CFD --> various runs?
    • Noise in the system...
  3. Goal: Measure UV fraction of light
    • Open and close cone, use different filters and std. run
  4. Goal: Test new PMT's
    • First test XP2020Q with:
      • Gain of 10**6 instead of 10**7
      • + same collector as for 29mm PMT's
      • Do single p.e. calib
      • Do run with LED at fixed amplitude A_o
      • Standard run
      • Pressure scan to test geometry(?)
    • Prototype of middle layer of CLC's
      • Use Phillips 29mm PMT + collector
      • Single p.e calib (?) not likely
      • Do LED run with A_o amplitude to calibrate single p.e.
      • Do standard run
      • Repeat for Hamamatsu 29mm
      • Repeat for Hamamatsu 25mm
    • Prototype of outer layer of CLC's
      • Use best of Hamamatsu 25mm or 29mm + collector
      • Single p.e calib (?) not likely
      • Do LED run with A_o amplitude to calibrate single p.e.
      • Do standard run
    • Prototype of inner layer of CLC's
      • Use Hamamatsu 19mm and/or 25mm + collector
      • Single p.e calib (?) not likely
      • Do LED run with A_o amplitude to calibrate single p.e.
      • Do standard run
  5. Goal: Test angular dependance
  6. Goal: Test tranparent cone
    • Replace aluminized cone by transparent cone
