XTC2 testing procedure
The Tests:
- Mount an XTC2 onto a TDC. Slide TDC into slot 11. Note the Finder in slot 5 (required for testing).
- log into the crate :
- Open a new terminal shell. (right click on desktop).
- setup fer
- vxlogin tstxft2
- in another window log in as cdf_xft
- Open another new terminal shell.
- ssh -l cdf_xft b0test4
- in the crate window (tstxft2) load the files needed:
- cd "~edrogers/xtc2out"
- ld <regtest
- ld <xtc_comp
- now run a register test
- in the crate window: regtest
- if you get any errors, try a different XTC. If you get errors
with three different XTCs mark the TDC with F and send me an
e-mail (nils@fnal.gov).
- check cpld vers. == 16
- Switch over to 2nd terminal (cdf_xft@b0test4)
- ~mendi/xft/xtc2/bin/tdcsn tstxft2 11
- check it is CPLD V16
- reprogram flashRAM on-board XTC2
- Still using the cdf_xft@b0test4 terminal :
- XTC2FLASH tstxft2 11 /cdf/onln/data/cdf_xft/XFTbin/xtc2/PROM_File_6bin-D4-KS33.hex
- Wait for prompt to return (~90 sec.)
- Full Testing to begin:
- Back on the crate window (tstxft2):
- regtest
- run
- 15 17 18 19 21 27 28
- continuously monitor the output for error messages
- to run each test individually, enter each number on a
separate line
- Is this XTC2 accurately listed on the spreadsheet? Check http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pS_fNyyvLRvGNNNvd-dCbDQ
- If you're done for the day
- On the crate window (tstxft2):
- logout
- Otherwise, start back at the top
if you get any errors, try a different XTC. If you get errors
with three different XTCs mark the TDC with F and send me an
e-mail (nils@fnal.gov).
Things to remember:
- The crate is a simple computer, with no understanding of "Backspace." Instead, use Ctrl-H
- If the crate freezes up on you, try hitting the RST button above the blue cable in Slot 1
- Email edrogers@fnal.gov if the tests act weird or give consistent errors for any XTC2.
