CDF has two triggers optimized for the study of semileptonic B decays. One trigger (called "e+SVT") requires a 4 GeV electron in association with a track. The track is required to pass the silicon displaced track trigger (which
requires a minimum track pt of 2 GeV and a minimum impact parameter of 120 microns).
The other trigger (called "mu+SVT") is similar, but requires a muon rather
than an electron. Neither trigger makes any impact parameter requirement
on the lepton candidate.
CDF has reconstructed samples of lepton+D and lepton+D* in these trigger
data sets. D* mesons are reconstructed by combining two modes:
fully reconstructed D-->Kpi and partially reconstructed
D-->Kpipi0, where the pi0 is not observed.
