Background Model Fits for all Mass Points for Each Channel

Plots show the fit to the sideband region of the invariant mass distribution where a 12 GeV/c2 signal window is excluded for each Higgs boson mass hypothesis. The interpolation of the fit in this signal region is as a background template in setting limits. Data vs. fit residuals are also shown.

Acceptance × Efficiency and Event Yields for each Diphoton Category

For each SM Higgs boson mass hypotheses tested in this analysis, the efficiency multiplied by signal acceptance (εA) is shown as a percentage of the total number of H→γγ decays for each production mechanism (GF, VH, and VBF). These values, along with the cross sections and branching are used to obtain the predicted number of SM Higgs boson signal events. The number of background and data events are also given for each mass. The final column in each subtable is the number of signal events divided by the square root of the number of background events (S/√B). The event yields for each mass point are obtained from a 12 GeV signal region centered on the Higgs boson mass hypothesis, allowing a 2 GeV overlap between signal regions.
